Festive Cuppies Part II : Deepavali

Deepavali ....
Deepawali or Diwali is certainly the biggest and the brightest of all Hindu festivals - popularly know as the 'Festival of Lights".
Deep = light
and avali = a row
DEEPAVALI = a row of lights ...

Clay lamps - to signify the triumph of good over evil.

Kolam - is usually drawn two to three weeks beforehand as part of the Deepavali preparations' that include festive food, new clothes, and sometimes the renovating of homes. It is generally designed at every entrance of any house or building, not only as an aesthetic decorative form but also for the belief that the Goddess of abundance and manifest beauty;

... 'Henna' -symbol of prosperity and good fortune...

Deepavali... the "Festival of Lights"

This coming Friday, the Hindus in Malaysia and all over the world will be celebrating Deepavali- the “Festival of Lights”, which symbolizes the victory of good over evil within every human being, a struggle we engage in every day.
... and...
It is a great pleasure to extend Deepavali greetings to all my Hindu customers & friends...
To my friend Mr Deson & family...
...I bet it must be a marathon of sweets dishes at your home.


P/s: I am yet to learn how to make that delicious Lamb curry from that lovely wife of yours..!
