Why Pig in a Blanket...?

I like simple recipes that don't require a lot of unique ingredients that I won't use all the time.

I love trying new things and strice to make something new at least once a week.

These "Pig-in-a-blanket" are so simple to make yet so good.

I'll admit that they aren't that good for you but it's not like I eat them every day. Pigs in a blanket provide a delicious, hearty breakfast and also make a delicious brunch.

Pigs in a Blanket @ Wrapped Sausage

1 packet pastry crust (I bought the ready-made in the supermarket)

1 package cheese chicken cocktail sausages

1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

1 egg (for brushing)

Preheat oven to 250 degrees.

Dust work surface with flour.

Roll out your puff pastry and slice into two strips.

Place cocktail sausage and shredded cheddar cheese on the puff pastry strip. Roll it gently.

Repeat with remaining strips and sausages....

Slightly beaten the egg, just before placing in oven, brush the pastry with egg...
...place on a lined baking sheet.
Bake for about 15 minutes or until golden brown

I wonder, why on earth it has to be called "Pig-in-a-Blanket"..??
...why not "toad in a hole"?
or just simply call it "wrapped sausage"?
